Who are you?

We're Ottawa students and alum who are taking some time during winter break to play games together and raise some money for Child's Play Chairty.

Are you affiliated with Nintendo?

Not at all. This is a 100% unofficial event.

What is your association with Childs Play Charity?

We have no official affiliation with Child's Play Charity. However we are recognized as a silver corporate sponsor.  We like to think they like us too.

Are you taking a portions of the donations?

Not at all. All donations made go directly to Child's Play through Paypal. None of us here come into contact with any of the donations.

What are you planning during the event?

Besides playing the games?  There are numerous donation and Twitter prizes that will be given away during the marathon.  For more information, visit to Contests and Prizes page

Where did you get this idea?

We have shamefully taken the idea from the wonderful people at mariomarathon.com, and the various other gaming marathons, all of whom put on excellent marathons themselves. We hope that we can achieve much of the same enthusiasm and support that they have all brought to their own marathons

How do I donate?

On the front page there is a large bunnon that says "Donate Now".  Simply click on that and you will be taken to a Paypal page where you can make your donation.  If you don't have a Paypay account, you can simply enter your payment information in order to make a donation.

Will I get a Tax receipt?

Yes. After a donation is made, you will recive a tax receipt in your email address.  If you reside outside the United States please consult your tax professional to acertain if a donation to Child's Play is considered tax deductable.

Are you any good at these games?

Some of us are, and some of us are not. We're looking forward to keeping a death count to see how many lives we lose in the games over the several days we'll be playing

How long are you going to be playing

That's up to you. The more donations made, the longer we'll play.  Donation will unlock addition hours of playtime, puting you directly in control of the marathon

Why aren't your playing other Zelda titles? ie. handheld games

Console games are easier to broadcast for you all to see. But hey, you never know... maybe next time we'll add some other games.

What Versions of the games are you playing?

The NES and SNES games, as well as Majora's Mask will be played on the Wii Virural console. We will be playing Gamecube versions of Ocarina of Time and Windwaker, as well as Twilight Princess and Skyward Sword on the Wii.

How can I get involved?

You can promote this event by sharing it on Facebook, Twitter, and other social media sites. Getting the word out to as many people as possible would be a great help.

How are you broadcasting the event?

We'll be broadcasting on twitch.tv, and right here at hyrulehustlers.com

What systems are you using?

We will be using 2 Nintendo Wii's.

What equipment are you using to put on the event?

For our second year, we have decided to use much better and more sofisticated software.  We're using 3 Microsoft Lifecam's, and an Avermedia Live Gamer HD to capture video from the Wii.  We're also using an Audio Technica Pro 44 boundary microphone to broadcast all of our voices in the room.  We've chosen to use an Alesis audio mixer to mix and balence to sound from the livingroom, and the game so you receive a nice banence of both.

To combine all of these elements, we've decided to use XSplit.
